Check your Password Quality

The Password Quality Check tool evaluates the quality of a password based on several security criteria and is ideal for use in security awareness training. The tool checks, among other things:

  • Length and complexity: It analyzes whether the password is sufficiently long and uses a good combination of upper and lower case letters, numbers, and special characters.
  • Symbol usage: Many users use special characters only at the beginning or end of the password – a known, weak pattern. The tool detects such typical weaknesses.
  • Word components: The tool recognizes frequently used words in several languages (including German, English, and Spanish) as well as password components from the internal binsec word list.
  • BSI guidelines: It checks whether the password complies with the recommendations of the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI).
  • Database comparison: The internal binsec Hash Database is used to check whether the password appears in known breach lists (e.g. rockyou.txt).

Tools

Penetration Testing

Since 2013 we conduct professional penetration test, based on international industry standards and years of experience in penetration testing, red teaming and hacking.

As a company for professional penetration testing, we do some things differently than other pentest provider: As a penetration test firm, we do not sell vulnerability scans as pentest. We do also focus on business security risks. You are looking for a professionally conducted penetration tests? Get the binsec team for your Pentest. Read more about our pentest service.
